AF IDX: Frequently Asked Questions

Can you customize the design of the IDX?

Due to compliance and technical requirements, customization of the IDX is limited.

However, what we do have more control over is the design of the IDX Listing pages themselves on your website. Our design team can edit the listing template on your website to adjust things like layout, colors, styling, and even add custom content (globally).

Just keep in mind that there are some aspects of the design that we will not be able customize, especially when it comes to the parts of a widget that pulls MLS data.

What CRMs does AF IDX integrate with?

All leads that are captured through AF IDX pool into your sites Lead Manager and thus will sync to any CRM that you have connected there. To get a full list of CRMs we integrate with, please check out this page here.

Although we do connect with a wide variety of CRMs, Follow Up Boss offers the tightest integration with AF IDX. We even have developed a Follow Up Boss widget that allows you to set up and manage listing alerts directly from a FUB contact.

If you a not a Follow Up Boss user, we do also recommend looking at our integrations through Lofty and Zapier.

What IDX filters are available for my board / area?

Outside of location search, the majority of our websites will have the standard IDX filters you are used to seeing. These filters include price, beds, baths, listing & property types, and status.

However, because the complete list of filters we support change from board to board we suggest reaching out to our support team to find an example in your area!

The biggest difference in most cases are the various Home Feature filters that are supported. For example, one board we may have a filter option for Pools, while another we do not.

Although these filters may be included with other tools that you have used in the past doesn’t mean that we have mapped it out for our IDX yet.  

Can you add more filters for me if I pay for them?

Unfortunately no, with our filters - “what you see is what you get”. Although we are always looking to expand the functionality of our IDX, we typically can not provide ETAs on when we will add new filters to a specific board.

Are you able to customize the listing alert emails?

At this time the content and design of listing alert emails can not be customized past the contact information that is displayed on them.

Will the emails for the listing alerts my agents set up feature them instead?

Listing alert emails all come from the central account that is registered with the IDX. This means if you are a team, your team branding and contact information will be listed on all emails.

However, if your agents are using our Lead Link addon, rest assured that all traffic and conversions coming from listing alert emails they set up will be automatically attributed to them.

Can we limit visitors from accessing certain IDX filters or property types on our website?

Inside your AgentFire dashboard we do offer a way to control Search Resitrctions with AF IDX. Here you can disable any filter which will hide it from your sites search widget.

Please note that this will not remove IDX listings from your website, just the ability to use specific search function. It is always important to ensure that you do not abuse this tool and use it to violate the Fair Housing Act.  

Can I add my own IDX to the website?

By default, your website will come included with AF IDX. If you wish to use a different IDX we do offer a few “bring your own IDX” options. Including:

  • Real Scout
  • Ruuster
  • ShowcaseIDX

Unfortunately we do not support any other 3rd party IDX solutions at this time.

Does AF IDX support sold listings?

Yes, our IDX does support sold listings if they are made available by your board.

Can we set up saved searches for just our exclusive listings?

Yes, we make it very easy to set up search feeds that include your agent of office listings only. 

Inside AF IDX saved search settings, you can navigate to the “Connect My Listings” function to set up your feed!

Am I able to import my IDX leads from my previous website to AF IDX?

Although we do allow you to manually import IDX leads into your Lead Manager, it is not design for mass imports. Because we are not a “middle of funnel” tool, complications with anti-spam laws and blacklisting risks make it difficult for us to import mass quantities of leads.

If you are real estate professional who need help importing thousands listing alert leads, we do suggest checking out our partners at Follow Up Boss, Ruuster, or Real Scout as they are more suited to support this volume.

Can you combine multiple boards into one IDX feed?

Yes, as long as we support those boards and they allow it, we can activate commingling on your account. Please note that extra charges will apply. 

Am I able to create and assign search alerts right from Follow Up Boss?

Yes, we have an official Follow Up Boss widget that you can activate for free and begin managing search alerts right from a FUB contact.

Can you remove a listing agent's contact information from an IDX listing?

By law, most boards require you to include “courtesy of..” disclaimers inside every IDX listing page that attributes back to the listing agent.


However, because the requirements of these courtesy label change from board to board, it is important to check what you do and do not have to display. For example, some boards require you to include phone and email addresses of the listing agent while others do not. 

Are you able to add a “cc” to the search alert emails?

No, unfortunately at this time you are unable to add a CC to a created search alert.

Can you add buyer compensation information to an AF IDX listing?

Due to the recent rulings of the NAR-lawsuit you can no longer display compensation information on any listing represented through an MLS feed.

However, if it is your exclusive listing you can import it into our “My Listings” tool and add compensation information there. Just ensure that it is being added accordance the rules that your brokerage and board have set.
