Let's say you want to create a new Area. Click on the Manage Areas, and when you enter the dashboard for managing the areas, click on the Add New button.
As you click there a small pop-up will appear in the center of your screen, where you will fill out some initial info on the area you want to create.
From there, you will be prompted to search the area. As you start typing, you will notice a few autocomplete suggestions will appear in a dropdown. This first field is the data feed from which the area will get all the demographic info, map, etc. You can find more info on this in the Data Feed section of this article.
If you can't find the area with the method shown above, try with ZIP Code(s).
If you want to have your area named differently from the automated suggestion, you can do so in the second field.
Select a Parent Area for the area you are creating. (Which will make this area a Second Level Area)
NOTE: Highly recommended to read this article about the difference between Parent (Top) Level Areas, and Second Level Areas.
When you are ready to move forward, click the Create This Area Guide button.
Then, you can go ahead and click on the Edit Area button, to enter the Editor.
As you enter the editor, you will see the editor on the left side of the screen, and on the right side, you will have a live preview of the page as you edit.
There are two tabs in the Editor - Content, and Settings.
Let's quickly cover the Settings Tab first.
Show/Hide Area Navigation - Enable/Disable the navigation bar for the Area Guide page.
Child Category Label - Determine what type of Child level Areas (Second Level) will be under this area (if there will be).

If you want to have a Featured image, click on the Custom Featured Image button. Otherwise, it will have the map as a featured image from the Data Feed of the area, which brings us to the next setting.
Determine the Data source of the area. This is usually done when you create the Area Guide initially (first step), but in case you want to adjust the data source, this is the place to do that.
You can also alter the way you get the data from. For example, via ZIP codes, or do not show any data, choosing areas from the list, or show the schools and amenities only from the parent area.
All the data is powered by HomeJunction.
Final label in the Settings tab is Lifestyle Tags, where you can easily type in and add Lifestyle Tags for your Area Guide.
Content tab contains series of blocks which you can edit, rename, re-order, or disable.
Now let's cover each block and it's functions/features:
The Header can contain a Map, Image, Video, Youtube URL, or a Slider
You can add a Solid or Gradient Overlay.
Show/Hide Header Title
Settings - You can setup costum colors for background, title/sub-title, and enable custom button styling for additional button customization.
Content - Edit the title/sub-title, add a custom button at your will.
Data - You can customize the data points manually if some are slightly inaccurate.
Settings - Adjust the color of the background, title, and the text.
Content - Add a title, and text to describe the area.
Settings - Optionally, adjust the colors, and customize the buttons.
Content - Adjust the title/sub-title, and select the listings source (area) which you want to display for the Area Guide page. This field will change depending on the IDX vendor you use. In this case it's kvCORE. We also support Showcase IDX and Diverse Solutions.
You can also filter listings from your Custom Saved Searches (hotsheets)
To do so, you will need to enable the function, and select the desired prepared hotsheet.
Settings - Adjust the colors at your will.
Content - Adjust the title/sub-title, and optionally, add a custom button if needed.
Data - You can also add Custom Data for the Demographics
Settings - Adjust the colors for the block at your will.
Content - Adjust the title/sub-title, and you can add images and videos to the gallery from your media library, or video URL's.
Settings - You can adjust the colors here as well.
Content - Edit the title/sub-title
Settings - Adjust the colors, and additionally you customize the tabs by enabling the custom tab styling. (tab color, tab hover color, etc.)
Content - Adjust the title/sub-title
Settings - Adjust the colors at your will.
Content - Adjust the title/sub-title, and select the posts you want to feature on the page.
As you click in the Select Posts field, you will be able to select from all of your published posts.
Once you are happy with the Editing you've done don't forget to hit the SAVE button to leave the Editor.
