[Common Questions](https://support.agentfire.com/en/faqs-and-general#common-questions) # Can I use CloudFlare as a domain registrar and AgentFire website? **To have your AgentFire website active, you'll need to use our specific name servers and our CloudFlare account.**   Unfortunately, using **CNAME**'s or **A records** with our service isn't an option, so CloudFlare **isn't compatible** as your domain registrar if you plan to use AgentFire for your website. You can find more details in our [Terms of Service.](https://agentfire.com/agentfire-development-hosting-agreement/) If you are currently using CloudFlare, you will have to transfer your domain to a different registrar. The transfer process usually takes 7 to 10 days.   **Please note that AgentFire only hosts websites and it's not a domain registrar company.** ### But why do I need to point my Nameservers to you? Great question.  There are two major reasons for this.   1. **We use a global CDN with direct API integration:** Your website will be placed on our [CloudFlare.com](http://cloudflare.com/) account, which refers to a geographically distributed group of servers that work together to provide fast delivery of your content. The CDN allows for the quick transfer of all your pages, images, and videos. Use of the CDN and specific firewall settings also helps protect your website from any malicious attack while boosting performance considerably but requires that we control the DNS Zone. Our platform doesn't just host websites; we provide a managed service that includes automated SSL certificate provisioning and renewal, advanced caching configurations for optimal performance, and robust security through Web Application Firewall (WAF). For these integrated Cloudflare services to function seamlessly and automatically for your website, Cloudflare needs to be the authoritative DNS provider. Our specific implementation leverages Cloudflare at the DNS level to provide SSL as a tightly integrated, automated service. It's not just about us adding A or CNAME records; it's about the entire Cloudflare proxy and security layer that sits in front of your website with our robust servers setup behind packed with direct API integration. 2. **DNS zone files can be confusing:** The last thing we want is to put you in a position where you are in unfamiliar territory that can prove both frustrating and time-consuming to correct errors that can prevent your site or other related services from working properly. A DNS Zone file is all your DNS Records in one area(TTL, NS, MX, A & CNAME for example). **Remember:** This is just a guide, and specific steps may vary depending on your chosen hosting provider and domain registrar.
